GBN/GBA at the Biobank Symposium

In three weeks, the 12th National Biobanking Symposium will take place. From 23 to 24 September, the German biobanking community, industry representatives, researchers from all disciplines and other interested parties will come together for one of the most important events in the German biobanking calendar. The motto of this year's symposium is "Networked Biobanking: Strong together into the future".

Anniversary session: "From networked biobanking to internationalisation – 10 years of the German Biobank Node (GBN)"

Representatives of the German Biobank Node (GBN) and the German Biobank Alliance (GBA) are strongly represented in the conference programme with numerous oral and poster contributions. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the German Biobank Node (GBN), an anniversary session entitled "From networked biobanking to internationalisation – 10 years of the German Biobank Node (GBN)" will be held on the second day of the conference. In three presentations, this session will focus on past successes as well as the future and strategic planning. Prof. Dr. Michael Hummel, head of GBN until the beginning of the year, will open the session with a review of 10 years of GBN. PD Dr. Dr. Michael Kiehntopf, member of the new GBN Executive Board since February, will then talk about the "Development of a Quality Concept in Biobanking: Strategies, Developments, Internationalisation". The session will conclude with the presentation "10 years of GBN: Future Directions" by GBN Board Spokesperson and National Node Director PD Dr. Sara Nußbeck. The GBN anniversary video "Highlights of a decade" gives a taste of the session:
